Privacy Policy

Ross Street Surgery complies with all confidentiality and privacy obligations. Please refer to our Privacy Policy found on our website or displayed at reception. It is important to note our email is not a secure form of electronic communication and we suggest you either pickup any documents from reception. And to give us a call to organise any appointments on (02) 6721 2763.

Patient Feedback and Complaints

We value your feedback. Should you have any concerns please speak to reception or alternatively email us on reception@rssurgery.com.au and the Practice Manager will contact you in regards to the matter.

You are able to provide feedback via our feedback forms at reception. Complaints can also be made to the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) www.hccc.nsw.gov.au or 1800 043 159

Consultation Fees

Rebate amount will depend on the consultation billed.

Payment is required on the day and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit CARD (Excluding Amex and Diner cards).

Bulk billing is available to Pensioners and Concession card holders who present with valid cards at the time of the consultation, with their Medicare card.

Workers’ compensation patients must provide an approved claim number.

Appointments

Booked Appointments

Ross Street Surgery is an appointment based Centre. Appointments can be made by calling reception on (02) 6721 2763 during opening hours.

Walk-ins

We accept walk ins, however there may be an unavoidable wait as priority is given to patients who have booked appointments with their GP.

At times you may experience a waiting period due to GPs tending to urgent or complex medical issues. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments will be seen by the next available GP. Please advise reception if you believe you require an urgent appointment. You will be triaged.

Extended Consultations

If you need more time with your GP, please arrange for an extended consultation when booking your next appointment. Please advise reception if you have more than one issue to discuss so the appropriate consultation time may be booked.

Recall/ Reminder System

Our centre follows our recall system for follow up of tests or procedures. Please discuss this with your GP.

Telehealth

If you are a regular patient and you are unable to travel to the medical centre a telehealth service may be available. Telehealth services are at the digression of your GP. Please contact the practice for more information.

Test Results

Test results can be obtained by booking a consultation with your GP. Once the consultation is completed the doctor can provide you a copy of your results

Translator Services

For patients with language difficulties a telephone translator service can be arranged on 131 450.

For patients with hearing difficulties an Auslan interpreter can be arranged on 1300 287 526.

Please advise reception if you think this may be needed.

After Hours and Home Visits

After hours healthcare is provided by Inverell District Hospital and 13SICK (137425).

Home visits may be available to regular patients of this medical centre whose condition prevents them from attending the medical centre. These are provided at the discretion of the individuals GP.

Please call Triple Zero (000) or attend the nearest hosptal in an emergency.
